Katiana Guerrier (she/her)
Legal Assistant
ReLeSe Program and Veterans Legal Program

Katiana
is a legal assistant supporting VLJ’s ReLeSe (Reentry Legal Services) Program and Veterans Legal Program. Katiana is one of the first points of contact for both reentry and veteran clients. She assists ReLeSe clients from the moment they inquire about criminal record clearing to the moment they are able to file their expungement petition. With a witness to many expungement petitions being filed, Katiana hopes the barriers our ReLeSe clients no longer

face means they will be provided with more opportunities to obtain a better livelihood. Further, for our veteran clients, Katiana offers an empathetic ear, understanding that veterans who served this country are suffering in silence, and Katiana guides them in the right direction on navigating their legal needs, moving them one step closer to safety, security, and stability.

Prior to joining VLJ, Katiana worked as a medical receptionist at a doctor’s office in West Orange, NJ. Katiana earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from William Paterson University where she served the campus community as a Resident Assistant for three years. Additionally, Katiana completed the NJ LEEP Summer Law Program at Seton Hall University and interned with the United States Probation Office. Katiana is also a member of Phi Theta Sigma Honors Law Fraternity, previously serving as Ethics Chair.
