VLJ is always in need of your support to keep taking cases and changing lives---cases like Feleasha's.
Like many clients of VLJ's Bankruptcy Program, Feleasha was overwhelmed by her dire financial situation. As a single mother, her earnings as a nursing assistant were not enough for her to support herself and her children. Her debts began to mount, leaving her with few options. VLJ matched Feleasha (left) with long-time volunteer Leah Capece (right).
Leah is proud of her pro bono work. “Helping others is one of the reasons I became a lawyer and why I continue to offer pro bono services to VLJ year after year. Bankruptcy is so valuable for some members of our community, because it provides them with a fresh opportunity to build a happy and successful life.”
Today, Leah is working with Feleasha to provide her that fresh start and a financially-stable future.
