VLJ Welcomes New Board Members

Newark, NJ (June 10, 2020) — Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) is pleased to announce it has welcomed five new members to its Board of Trustees.

Mala Harker is a Partner at Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman where she is a member of the firm's Management Committee.  She represents individuals and corporations in the financial services, pharmaceutical, and other industries in connection with white collar, securities, employment, and complex commercial litigation matters. Prior to rejoining Freidman Kaplan, she was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2011-2017.

Michael Hyun is the corporate secretary of Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) and its subsidiaries, including Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) and PSEG Power. He is responsible for corporate governance and the administration of the Board of Directors meeting agendas and processes. In addition, he is responsible for corporate, securities and transactional matters across PSEG including disclosures, capital markets transactions and mergers and acquisitions, and he oversees PSEG’s shareholder services.

Wendy Feldman, is a Vice-President, Corporate Counsel, Privacy and Cybersecurity Law at Prudential Insurance, where she provides legal guidance for enterprise-wide domestic and international privacy law (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD) compliance efforts, as well as other regulatory changes that impact privacy and cybersecurity and creates regulatory change management processes to support business alerts on new privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations.

George McDonald is Associate General Counsel at Curtiss-Wright Corporation, a $3 billion, multi-national corporation and leading supplier to the commercial, industrial, defense and energy sectors. As general counsel to its Industrial and Oil & Gas segments, he is responsible for the legal affairs of the company's critical commercial segments.

Kevin Weber is a Director, Commercial & Criminal Litigation at Gibbons. He has a broad practice providing strategic guidance to businesses of all sizes in litigation, dispute resolution, and general counseling matters.  His wide-ranging experience includes real estate disputes, litigation involving government entities, trade secret actions, business divorces, and professional liability/malpractice matters.

In January, VLJ welcomed Kelly Lloyd Lankford and Kaitlyn Stone as Trustees of the Board.  Kelly is Senior Managing Associate at Dentons. She is a member of Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice and the firm's Insurance sector group. She counsels and represents clients in an array of complex commercial disputes, including insurer-side coverage litigation and arbitration.

Kate is an Associate at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath where she represents major pharmaceutical companies in products liability cases involving prescription medications and medical devices. Kate has experience ranging from individual cases to class actions, and the majority of her practice focuses on multi-district litigation and coordinated state proceedings.
